In My Pocket - Buttons #2

I can't get enough of this new idea so have done another for Hels' Challenge! I have used double-sided Cosmo Cricket paper again. All the stamps except the postage marks are from Tuscan Rose, the postage ones are from Crafty Individuals. I stamped using black Staz-On and used copper embossing powder on the postmarks. The flourish on the cover is a Grungeboard shape inked and clear embossed. I used some old buttons from my collection and a photo turn and brad by Papermania. As a finishing touch I ran a little Black Soot Distress Ink round the edges.

In My Pocket - Buttons

This is a new challenge from Hels' blog http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/
The idea is to make a pocket (instructions on Hels' blog) and hide the theme under the flap. This pocket is made from a double-sided sheet of lovely Cosmo Cricket paper. The dominos are a stamp from Cherry Pie. I highlighted the spots with some 3D gloss. Inside I used a black domino from the Fruit Pixie and used some old mother of pearl buttons for the spots. The word stamps are from Tuscan Rose. I used some Grungeboard arrows inked black and embossed. The pocket is closed with a thin ribbon through two eyelets. Great challenge!

Sunday Stampers Challenge - Friends

Not having any stamps that really illustrated friendship I took a different approach and came up with this Skinny. The phrase I came up with on my own (apologies if anyone else came up with it first) and stamped it with a set of Hero Arts alphabet stamps. I think the phrase would make a good stamp. The tree stamp is by Whispers and the little leaf comes from the Hero Arts set. The backing paper is from a Papermania 6x6 pad. I used a Brilliance Coffee Bean ink pad throughout.

Odd

This is a Gothic Arch I made for a bit of fun. I like these mad stamps from Paper Artsy. The postmarks are from Crafty Individuals and the mini postcard on the bottom right is from The Queen's Dresser Drawers. The clock head woman has got a Grungeboard crown and heart embossed with gold.

Collage ATCs

I do like the collage effect with stamps so I had a go and came up with these two ATCs. Both have backgrounds coloured with Distress Inks. The first uses a butterfly stamp and a keyhole stamp from Crafty Individuals. The top right image is by Paper Artsy, and the central image is from The Queen's Dresser Drawers. The B is a Grungeboard letter, inked and embossed.
The second one uses all Paper Artsy stamps except the mini postcard on the bottom right, this is from the Queen's Dresser Drawers. After stamping I went over some details with my embossing pen and added gold powder. The edges of the owl image are roughly embossed with gold.

Sunday Stampers Challenge - Ebony and Ivory

I'm quite into the distressed look at the moment and this Gothic Arch ATC blank got the brick wall treatment (see tags below). I rubbed some Black Soot Distress Ink round the edges and over the creases and scratches. I stamped the Paper Artsy image with Staz On and cut round it with deckle-edge scissors. I coloured a Grungeboard crown with black ink and embossed it several times with clear powder, and added a clear gem. As a finishing touch I attached a black eyelet and threaded some white cotton lace through.
This is the second time I made this; the first one was ruined when I dropped a purple ink pad on it.

Shabby Tags

These tags were made for the Hel's Angels Tag Swap and the theme is Shabby/Distressed/Altered. I made all these from mountboard. I have had trouble in the past making things look authentically distressed and have never felt the damage done to them looks genuine enough! So this time I decided to do something drastic and rubbed the tags on the brick wall outside. This gave them a really old, scratched and beaten look that I was pleased with.
The first tag is cut from a piece of gold metallic mountboard. After being scratched on the wall I rubbed some Pine Needles Distress Ink into the raw edges, followed by a little Black Soot. This gave a kind of verdigris effect that I liked and went well with the metallic board. The stamps I used come from Paper Artsy.
The next tag was cut from cream textured mountboard and scratched and creased. I rubbed in some Distress Inks, then stamped the two Catslife Press stamps onto a beermat which had been covered in white paper then Distress Inked and spritzed. I cut them out really badly and equally badly applied some gold pen to the edges. For the buttons I looked in my box of old buttons and selected these. I stitched them to the tag and made a bit of a mess of finishing off the stitching.
The third is also on cream textured mountboard. I rubbed on some Distress Inks, then stamped the Crafty Individuals script stamp in Walnut Stain and tore it in half. I rubbed some more ink into the torn edges. I stamped the Paper Artsy lady with an Ariondack Woodland ink pad and cut away the top part of the image. The wings are from a Grungeboard set and were coloured with Fired Brick Distress Ink and embossed twice with clear powder.
I am very pleased with these and now know exactly how to age a project!

Three Moos

These are for the first Craft Swap Forum Moo swap. I used textured mountboard and added some colour with Distress Inks. I then stamped with Ariondack's Woodland ink pad. The stamps are from a set by Cherry Pie.

Someone's Watching Me

Looks like the big owl knows someone is watching him but can't work out where from. This is a Moo. I have used some clear stamps from a Hero Arts set. The background is made using Distress Inks and I added some adhesive star gems to finish.

Titanic

I am fascinated by vintage ocean liners so had to have this stamp from the Queen's Dresser Drawers. The 'Adventure' stamp is from Paper Artsy and the postmark stamp from a set of four by Crafty Individuals. The background is a yellow ATC blank with some Distress Inks blended then spritzed.

The Missing Piece

I love these Cherry Pie Leonardo da Vinci stamps. I made the ATC using Distress Inks on mountboard, then stamped the jigsaw piece on white paper, and used a Catslife Press stamp for the sentiment. I think the style of lettering goes well with the image. I stamped both with Ariondack's Wildflowers pad.

Birthday Girl

This fat page was made for a Paper Dolls birthday. The Butterfly Girl stamp is made by The Queen's Dresser Drawers (where do they get these names) and the floral border stamp is from Crafty Individuals. The background paper is from Papermania and I stamped in Arionadack's Wildflowers inkpad.

Love Is In The Air

This is a very romantic ATC. I used some Papermania paper for the background, and stamped a Hero Arts imade using Ariondack's Woodland ink pad. I added some Prima flowers and a sheer ribbon. The Romance word is from a K & Co set of epoxy word stickers.

Naughty Ladies

A Gothic Arch with some of Paper Artsy's rude ladies! I used some Sara Paper for the background and some paper flowers and adhesive gems as a finishing touch.

Gothic

A Gothic Arch ATC. I stamped the background with a Hero Arts stamp, added a piece of cream vellum and then this Crafty Individuals image.

Sunday Stampers Challenge - Lost In France

I had to have a good look through my stamps for this one and found this Paper Artsy heart with the legend 'je t'aime' was the only one really suitable. This is a pointy ATC. The background was coloured with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, then spritzed and dried with a heat gun. The large heart was embossed with clear powder.

Mona Lisa

This fantastic stamp is one of a set made by Cherry Pie. I coloured the background with four different Distress Inks and stamped the image using a Brilliance Coffee Bean pad. The floral stamp is from Crafty Individuals and I heat-embossed this and the edges of the page with gold.

Dragonfly Girl Fat Page

These are some of my favourite Paper Artsy stamps. I just love the dragonfly. I coloured the background with Distress Inks and stamped using a black Brilliance inkpad.

My Time To Craft Challenge - Birds

I used some Grungeboard for this one. I coloured the background with Distress Inks and then stamped with some Paper Artsy and Hero Arts stamps.

My Time To Craft Challenge - Brads and Eyelets

This Skinny is also for the Flowers book currently in progress on Craft Swap Forum. The background is handmade paper with blue glitter flowers. I coloured some chipboard flowers with Distress Inks and attached them with some Papermania brads. I added some Papermania eyelets and threaded through a co-ordinating sheer ribbon.

Sunday Stampers Challenge - Dogs

I managed to find some dog stamps in a set of Christmas See Ds! The paper is from Dovecraft's Pets range.

What a Hoot!

This ATC is made using some clear Hero Arts stamps given to me by Pickleypoo for my birthday. The background is Distress Inks on paper and the moon is from a Paper Artsy Mystery plate.
